STELLENBESCHREIBUNG

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • assist with projects examining the molecular and cellular mechanisms of inflammatory process and alteration of endogenous neuroactive compounds in neurological and psychiatric disorders
  • undertake a variety of molecular, cellular biology and protein chemistry research techniques and analytical chemistry techniques as outlined in Required Knowledge and Key Experience sections
  • undertake In-vitro techniques, including isolating and culturing of cell lines and primary brain cell cultures
  • assist with data management and analysis, including computational and statistical analysis
  • assist students in the use of research laboratory equipment

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ph.D degree or equivalent in medical science or related discipline
  • knowledge on work safely in a wet lab and handling with various classes of chemical reagents.
  • knowledge of analytical chemistry including but not limited to ELISA-based assays, and chromatographic assays (e.g. HPLC and GCMS)
  • In-dept knowledge of tryptophan metabolism in human pathologies evident by publication
  • good understanding of inflammatory processes and its role in behavioral, cognitive and pain relating to neurological diseases
  • knowledge of Goof Clinical Practise (GCP) and its application in clinical research
  • proficiency in English
  • reliability, accuracy, ability to work in a team, integrity
