We are looking to support our rapidly growing team as soon as possible:
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/x) - Biomarker Discovery in Neurodegenerative and Neuropsychiatric Disorders
Psychiatrie und Psychotherapie
Your tasks
Research focused on identifying and validating blood- and CSFbased biomarkers for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders, using machine learning and advanced statistical methods within international consortia and clinical trials. Current projects include:
- Identification of novel prognostic biomarkers for
Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline - Validation of plasma biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease
in diverse populations and establishment of diagnostic
cut-offs - Identification of predictive biomarkers of
psychotherapeutic treatment response in late-life
depression - Development of tools for the prediction of biological aging
Main responsibilities include:
- Leading projects involving the design and analysis of
complex longitudinal datasets, with emphasis on survival analysis, mixed-effects modeling, biomarker predictive performance, and reproducible data analysis workflows - Biomarker assay validation and implementation
- Supervision of students and technical assistants
- Biobank coordination and database maintenance
- Preparation of scientific publications, conference
presentations, consortia reports, and grant applications - Teaching activities in MSc courses
Your profile
- PhD or doctoral degree in a life-science-related discipline, such as: Life-science informatics, Molecular medicine, Genetics, Data science, Molecular epidemiology, Public health
- Motivated, collaborative, and team-oriented researcher
- Able to work with high degree of independence
- Strong expertise in "omics"-epidemiological analysis of large cohort data
- Experience working with large cohort datasets is a strong advantage
