Your tasks

The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group, focusing on the identification of physiological mechanisms underlying neuro-cognitive impairments and altered gut-brain interactions in metabolic disease.

In the particular project, we are interested in understanding how dietary changes affect neural encoding of learning and motivation in.

The Ph.D. student will work under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ruth Hanssen (Head of Research group Translational Metabolism Research, Policlinic for Endocrinology).

The ideal candidate has experience in neuroimaging and statistical analyses

Applications from candidates who recently obtained their Diploma/Masters degree in psychology or a related field including neurosciences, nutritional sciences, physics or biology are invited
Your profile
- The applicant should have a strong interest in neurobiological research
- The successful candidate will be actively involved in data collection and analysis so that good language skills in English and very good langue skills in German will be required.

Your future in detail
The Research Group Translational Metabolism Research, led by Ruth Hanßen, investigates the interactions between the brain, metabolism, and environmental factors in the development of obesity and obesity-associated diseases, as well as the potential therapeutic value of these interactions for the development of novel treatments.
The highly skilled and motivated research team comprises physicians, doctoral researchers, dietitians, scientists, and clinical research coordinators who collaboratively conduct and support both translational human studies and clinical trials.
